As a non-professional baker, I have found out that baking crinkles is quite doable for a beginner.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make yummy crinkles, short and easy!
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serving size: 20 chocolate crinkles
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose or plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
½ cup cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
¼ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
½ cup of icing or powdered sugar
Procedure:
o In a bowl, combine 1 cup all-purpose or plain flour, 1 tsp. baking powder and ¼ tsp. salt. Mix them well and set aside for later.
o Using an electric mixer or a classic whisk, put ½ cup cocoa powder, 1 cup sugar and ¼ cup vegetable oil, and start mixing all these ingredients thoroughly.
o Add 2 large eggs, just one egg at a time. After this, add 1 tsp. of pure vanilla extract.
o Bring in the first mixture (flour, baking powder, salt) and whisk both mixtures altogether.
o Cover the mixture with cling wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
o Pre-heat the oven to 175°C. Line the baking tray with parchment paper.
o Prepare ½ cup of icing sugar in a bowl.
o Scoop 1 tbsp. of cookie dough and shape it into a ball. Repeat until there’s no more dough left.
o Roll them on icing sugar to coat.
o Place them on the baking tray.
o Bake for 10 minutes. Allow a longer time if you wish to make bigger crinkles.
o Let it stand to cool and transfer into a stylish plate for presentation.
